Below is a brief graphical history of how the current site came to be, from my first real personal site back in 2002 to the more modern versions.

April 2002, and I realised that with EOn being decomissioned, I needed a website of some sort for myself. So, Legend came to be, and I decided I wanted a more tranquil theme than what I did for all my other sites, so I chose nature, namely clouds.

Only 2 or so months later, the site was redesigned to focus more on the blue sky theme, and less on those hard grays. At the end of July, I actually incorporated a theme changer, so you could switch from the sea/sky theme to a forest, snowy mountain tops, or a tropical lagoon.

October 2002 and I grew weary with the previous design, and decided to make something with a sleeker look. This screenshot shows the forest theme, as this site also had themes that the user could change at any time. As well as the aforementioned ones, it had an outback theme and a sunset theme. I liked this design a lot, and kept it for 6 whole months.

May 2003 saw quite a few changes in my online life, not the least of which being my handle. Thus, a new site was needed. I ditched the themes because I was really just too lazy to make them, but this site was still special in that it's nav bar was down the middle, separating each page in two. It actually worked quite well, and the symmetry looked good. Extremely compact.

Early September, and I said I'd put off any new site designing until after my exams. I lied. This site was to be less compact and more simplistic than it's predecessor, and it succeeded in that. I also added a Hallf of Fame, and most importantly, inserted a blog to replace the manual news updates.

This design, completed at the start of November 2003, was made because I really wanted a beach scene, instead of the sea/sky that was the basis for all my previous sites. It was curvey, something also not seen on any of it's predecessors, and it was also very simple. It's static length and large graphics denoted it was really more of a show-off site than anything else, but it still had the blog.

This design from February 2004 was made to essentially keep the same look and feel of the previous site, but with more functionality - namely a dynamic length. It ended up being a bit lighter, but there are no real noteworthy differences apart from the different shape.

Version 5 took heed of the site's different direction. With Aelon a blog, I hardly had anything to say on this one. As such, it was turned into a more showy site, with a static length, with only the latest blog entry on the front for any real noteworthy updates. The site also brought back the old theme changer, though with some better themes.

The current site is perhaps the most minimal design I've ever made. My lack of updates while Version 5 existed just showed how pointless it was to keep a blog on the site, and my commitments elsewhere meant that a design which had less to maintain was the way to go. It also has a new logo for the first time in a while. This design was completed over 2 afternoons in June 2006, when I should have been stdying for exams.
