Although I had an e-mail address and often dabbled about looking for information and reading game
reviews a few months prior, the following timeline essentially logs the beginning of my online presence
through to the current time.
- December 2000
Created my first website, self-named, at a free hosting site. It was essentially done for a school computing exercise, but I enjoyed it
- February 2001
Website renamed to EOn, because it sounded cool
- March 2001
Joined the GameSpy Forums, while ForumPlanet was still in the early beta stages
- April 2001
Joined the newly formed [GSF] Clan, based around the forums. I was never really able to game with the rest of the clan due to my slow internet connection
- December 2001
Became a moderator on the GameSpy Forums
- January 2002
Signed up to NukeZone, a browser game, as it was the only kind of game I could really play with the clan
- February 2002
EOn is decomissioned. Work is begun in earnest on a successor, dubbed 'Aelon'. Several others get involved
- April 2002
My personal/portfolio site came online, originally under the moniker 'Legend'. Is now the site you see here before you
- October 2002
Became a forum moderator on NukeZone, able to both banish evil and help with concepts for the game's future development
- April 2003
[GSF] moved from GameSpy's forums to their own. Resigned from mod position on GameSpy. Renamed myself 'Cyrris', and overhauled my online visual identity
- June 2003
Aelon finally went to air with several reviews, articles, & news bits - and with this design
- July 2003
Resigned from [GSF] Clan after becoming disenchanted
- October 2003
Started the Antares Project with some friends.
- January 2004
Short month-long stint as a mod on GameSpy's PC forums. I decided against continuing due to time constraints with university
- February 2004
Finally aquired broadband internet, and hence the ability to play online. Much rejoicing
- April 2004
Converted to Firefox, and generally gained a larger appreciation for standards and web design. Now an evangelist
- July 2004
Aelon was converted to a blog as it's previous format was too time consuming, with university sucking up my energy
- October 2004
The NukeZone Portal came online, featuring my design. It was the first design I did for a large-exposure site though it was outdated by the time it went to air.
- March 2005
This 'Cyrris' site became more of a showcase and less of a blog, seeing as Aelon already took up my blogging energy
- July 2005
Aelon sees it's first huge spike in traffic levels, courtesy of a popular article by Plagiarize. The site's hosting plan is upgraded to ensure it's ready if that happens again
- September 2005
Aelon is accepted in to the 9rules Network, an affiliation of top-notch blogs
- January 2006
Aelon gets a new logo and completely new look to start the new year
- September 2006
The conceptual stages of the Antares Project conclude, and a final GUI mockup is made
- January 2007
Programming begins for the most complicated stage of the Antares Project, and it's existence is announced on Aelon for the first time
- ???? 2007
Flipside Comics underwent a redesign by yours truly. Largest site exposure to date.
